By John

Hi. My name is John and this is my blog.  You may notice that there is a lot of stuff about the funeral industry on this blog.  There is a reason for that.  I like funerals.  Well, not so much funerals as I like being a funeral director.  I am a second generation funeral director and so I grew up around (and sometimes in) the funeral home.  I get asked a lot of funeral questions from friends.  Sometimes it is the same question over and over.  I actually don’t mind answering them.  But I thought “Hey! What about those people that don’t have a funeral director for a friend?”  And thus the blog began.

There are two things that I would like noted:

1. Everything I post I attempt to do with the utmost respect to the funeral industry.  This is not a funeral hater website. If that is what you are looking for, keep looking.

2. If you have found this website in a time of sorrow or grief in your life, please forgive me if there is anything that may offend you.  That is not the intent of the blog.

Hi John. I just discovered your blog and even though there are only a few entries I enjoyed reading them. I would love to see more from you. I am not in the funeral profession but have a lifelong interest. I hope to make it a 2nd career someday. I am very interested in anything related to deathcare. I’ve assisted with a few removals. Observed cremation one time. Have not had a chance to observe embalming yet. Thanks for the interesting things you’ve written. Please write more when you feeel inspired. Thanks.
